Meet Our Board Members
Michelle Study-Campbell | President
Michelle joined the board of directors in 2018. A native Hoosier, Michelle is a graduate of Marian University and has her Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University. With 20 years of experience in government and nonprofit leadership, Michelle found her passion for community service at an early age. Her first project, organizing the 6th grade book drive for a local shelter, sparked a fire that has driven her into community service ever since. Michelle recently served as president of the Junior League of Indianapolis (JLI) for the 2015–2017 term and has been recognized for her community leadership as a member of the 2013 Indianapolis Business Journal's "40 Under 40, " and is a graduate of Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Class XXXV. She previously served as CEO at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana for over four years, leading the organization through unprecedented growth. She is currently serving as the first-ever director of Youth Protection for Kiwanis International. Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael, and daughter/budding philanthropist Rosemary Catherine. In her spare time, baking, crafting, and figure skating feed her soul and fill her social media feed.
Gary J. Meyer | Treasurer
Gary joined the board of directors in 2015. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in environmental science and two Master of Science degrees from Purdue University, one in microbiology and the other in public finance and administration. He is currently the owner and president of Square One, Inc., which specializes in technical, scientific, regulatory, and financial investigation and analysis. Square One, Inc. also has equity ownership in various limited liability corporations for which he serves as managing partner and chief technical officer. These companies primarily recycle industrial chemical byproducts into new chemical reagents to treat other polluted wastes. Gary has served, or is currently serving, on the board of directors of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library (IMCPL) and RecycleForce/Workforce, Inc., which assists formerly incarcerated individuals in rebuilding their lives by providing gainful employment and comprehensive social services..
Maurice joined the board in January 2018. The son of educators, his family has a long history of being education proponents in the public, private, and charter school sectors. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, he spent 21 years working in the private sector as a manager with Time Warner Cable, vice president with Walker Information, and as the director of administration for Brightpoint Inc., now Ingram Micro. For the past 14 years and currently, he has been employed by SHK Inc., a construction/facilities management consulting firm located in downtown Indianapolis. His experience with nonprofit board governance includes completion of the Stanley K. Lacy Leadership Series–Class XIX (1994) and the Ardith Burkhardt Series, as well as serving on several boards, including Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Indianapolis, the Greater YMCA of Indianapolis, and several church boards at the Caring Place of Indianapolis (formerly Calvary Temple). While at the Caring Place, he served as a lay pastor for 10 years and married couples counselor for six years. He and his wife Shawn have been married for 22 years and have four children who attended both private and public grade and high schools. All three have completed college either at Purdue or Indiana State.
Peter Pizarro is a native of Puerto Rico and, after residing in Indianapolis for more than twenty years, a Hoosier at heart. He earned a business degree from The Ohio State University. Upon graduation, he was immediately commissioned as an Air Force Officer. He is a graduate of the Indiana Leadership Forum (ILF). And he has served on the Board of Directors of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library (IMCPL), Indiana Association of Realtors (IAR PAC), Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors (MIBOR PAC), Child Advocates (CASA) Indianapolis Chapter, and the Fuller Center. He previously worked for 18 years as Vice President of International Division for American Greetings Corporation. For the past 18 years, Peter has been brokering real estate in which he uses 30+ years of sales and marketing to pursue his clients' goals aggressively and achieve results. Peter is an avid tennis player and enjoys traveling extensively with his wife and two children. He's a member of College Park Church.
