Miranda "Randi" Tolentino | School Principal
Miranda “Randi” Tolentino, Academic Advisor/Principal, 2019, BA in Political Science, minor in Psychology, MBA in Educational Leadership. After several years of working help desk and consulting on 401(k) plans, I decided to enter a Transition to Teaching program in 2005 to earn my teaching license. I began teaching high school social studies, and eventually came to work in the Information Technology department creating and overseeing the virtual and online learning programs of a large school district in Indianapolis in 2010. I moved to a smaller but equally challenging district in 2013, and again created and maintained virtual and online programs as the eLearning Coordinator.
I have been married for 20 years to my wonderful husband Ron, and we have three amazing sons, Elijah, Ian, and Lucas. I have a dog and love animals. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and learning new things. I am excited to become part of the K12/Hoosier Academy family and look forward to working with and getting to know each of you!

I am thrilled to start my first year teaching at Hoosier Academy. Hoosier Academy combines the best elements of brick and mortar teaching with immersive online learning. Hoosier Academy really prepares students for success in our increasingly technologically based workplace.
I love teaching because I love helping people meet their potential and to dream big. Education truly is the key to success in our society. As for my education, I have a degree in Education from Michigan State University and a degree in English and History from the University of Illinois. I am certified to teach English in the state of Indiana. My teaching experience is mostly at the middle school level, but I have also taught high school English. Middle school kids are my favorite age group!
My son has made it successfully through the middle school years. Joel is in 11th grade at North Central High School and certainly keeps me busy when I am not working. I hope that I am better able to relate to both students and their learning coaches because of my experiences with my son and his education.
